The HOC was a review of what we learned during the Hour of Code. We learn the codes related to how make our own name as a bubble form, how to add a space for linking and how to make a figure rotate within others. This lab was hard because we had to combine different files including the css file with html and js. The tricky part of all was the testing part cause we had to keep going back to make sure everything was in place. Overall this lab was a great experience and a good introduction to JavaScript.

LAB 10
For lab 10 we had to create a rollover using Fireworks. First we created an image and put it onto a state then create another image which color I also changed on another layer and finally combine them. After that the last step was to export making sure we included all pages.

LAB 9
For lab 9 we had to put our wireframes together up in a column to show the layout of the way we wanted the favorite character cartoon website to look like. It was kind of challenging because it was our first time using dreamweaver but it served as a practice for the future labs. So i opened up a new document and inserted my images also included a quick explanation of the purpose for my lab.

Self evaluation
My grade for this marking period wasn't what I wanted but it was what I expected. After reviewing my assignments I understood why I had that grade and went along with it. Also I accept that I could have done better starting off with the only presentation we had which I did not complete, and the project submitted in time. I believe it was lack off managing my own time wisely because I was given many opportunities to finish it though I did not took them. For next marking period I will make sure I manage my time and make use of opportunities given to me. Also of completing my time and keep on doing the reflection journals as I have been doing so far.

Project 1
For this project we had to include all of our knowledge into it. This would be tables, insert hyperlinks, images, colors, backgrounds and all types of styles. First we choose three movies of our choice. We had to do a research on the main characters and a little information of the plot. After that we created html documents and a folder for each movie along a html document,an image and a background image this to mainly focus on organization. In my opinion the easiest part of this projects was the index or the homepage. This because it was easy to copy and paste the hyperlinks. The hardest part of it was the individual documents within the folders. It wasnt hard to do the pages but the hard part was getting them to work combined with the homepage. This because we first had to upload the documents to filezila and then copy the hyperlinks to the homepage. The tricky part was that if you messed up on any part of the final result you had to go back and upload it again in order for the final product to update. Also the part of the colors and making sure the combined with each other so it will look appealing.
I know this project will help me in my future because it served as a practice to what the future has planned for me so now i have known how to combine all my knowledge a apply it to one. I think I could have done better by combining the colors and the arranging of my work could have been more organize by managing my time wisely something I still need to work on.
LAB7 html
Lab 7 was an introduction to the use of an index. In order to do this I first took a screenshot of the first six labs I had completed. I started doing my document saving it as index.html. Then i inserted my images and I included a hyperlink to each underlined text and to the images as well so the viewer could be able to see the reflection and what I did for each one of them. I included the banner and a background color.

LAB6 html
For lab 6 I had to create a banner for my page. I used fireworks as I did in my previous lab. This time I changed the width with 700 and the height as 100 but kept the resolution the same as 72. For my banner I used the beveled tool and connector line. I followed the same procedures for my html document the body, paragraphs and headings and then inserted my banner image which was saved as a png directly on my lab 6 folder so it would be more organized. Another thing I learned while doing this lab was the use of title tag. The title tag is the name you give to the document to in can be displayed on the tab just so the whole document name won't appear or so it won't be shown as untitled and get lost in the server. The importance of a banner is to basically promote a product or company in many cases. As of now, in my case the importance was to have a type of heading so the viewer would know what he/she is looking at.

LAB5 html
Lab 5 I would say it was probably one of the easiest labs we had during this marking period. I had to create my own name plate using Fireworks cs6. I used the chamfer rectangle tool and the star which had many different results. I added a gradient color and using the horizontal type tool I typed my name. I saved this document as a png. After that I created an html document and inserted my image. The name plate is important for the viewer to understand that the work shown belongs to you and also serves as an informative basis.

LAB4 html
For this lab we used the table tag. The <table> tag defines an HTML table. This tag includes some elements such as <tr> which defines a table row and create a horizontal division, <th> defines table header, and <td> defines table cell that creates vertical divisions. A problem we all experience is creating the lines that divide sections, this can be done by including border=# along with the body. After that we researched the hex codes and plugged it into the table using <td bgcolor=#0000000 </td>. This lab will help us be more organized for our future assessments.

LAB3 html
http://techteach.us/DD2015/SAshley/Labs/Lab3/LAB3_AshleyS_DD.htmlFor lab 3 we had to insert three images and three hyperlinks. First we apply to our document the basics for the html file in other words the first four lines and the headings. Then we applied a link using the <a>tag which defines a hyperlink and the extension <a href= http://(link) >. This allowed the user to be sent directly to the link by just clicking an underlined phrase. But what seem almost impossible to be done was the link by clicking an image. So we easily recopied the extension used before but this time with an image attached using <img src=(name of image). The background color was optional.

What is jpg, RAW, png, bmp, gif, tiff
JPG: file extension for graphic files. The JPEG file extension is used interchangeably with JPG. JPEG stands for joint photographic experts group who created the standard. The JPEG standard defines how an image is compressed.
RAW: a raw file is the image as seen by the camera's sensor. Think of it like unprocessed film. Rather that letting the camera process the image for you, turning it into a JPEG image, shooting in raw allows you to process the image to your liking.
PNG:(portable network graphics) is a raster graphics file format that supports lossless data compression.PNG files were developed to build upon the purpose of gifs. Also to develop the ability to incorporate low resolution images that load quickly but also look great. PNG files do not support animation. They are large files and they do not lose quality when edited.
BMP: also known as a bitmap image file or device independent bitmap (DIB) file format, is a raster graphics image file format used to store digital images. The format is capable of storing two dimensional digital images of width, height and resolution, both monochrome and color and optionally with data compression.
GIF: GIF images are great for creating very low resolution files for your website. Gifs are usually used for logos, icons or symbols. Gifs are limited to 256 colors which is why it is not recommended for photos. Gifs support animation and are also compressed which gives them a small file size.
TIFF: is a computer file format for storing raster graphics images, popular among graphic artists, the publishing industry, and both amateur and professional photographers in general.

LAB2 html
For lab 2 we had to write about our S.M.A.R.T goals and we learned how to properly insert an image on our document. Starting off by the basic steps we took from lab 1 including the titles and headings then we started typing our goals and the process needed to achieve them. After correcting the paragraphs we had to insert an image of ourselves using the tag <img src= "name">.We had to adjust its width and height and if preferable a name for the image. Another thing we learned during this lab was the use of "../" this symbol is used before the image's name to let the finder know that the image is located on a different folder and that it will be found moving one folder up. This lab was basically another practice lab so we could develop the skills we had adopted from lab one and also so we could prepare for later on tasks.

LAB1 html
Lab 1 was basically an introduction to what we are going to be learning throughout this chapter. I think this lab was relevant to the process because it served as a practice for something that we are all interested on. To create this document the first step was to open textedit and adjust some of its options. Going to preferences we made sure the plain text option is checked and as a preference not to show the ruler. We also had to make sure we had saved the document by going to file- save as .htlm, otherwise the document would have saved as .txt which would have not work later on. We learned the use of certain tags such as the headings <h1> and the working space area <p>. So then we started doing the assigned work. Starting off with the basics the beginning of the document had to start as
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC>
<html> <body>
and close it as </body> </html>

website vs web page
The difference between website and webpage is that a website is a collection of web pages and a web page is a document displayable in a web browser. A web page is displayed on a html format. A web page can update many resources such as style information, scripts and media such as images sounds or videos. All web pages are reachable through a unique address by typing the address in the browser address bar. Now, the website is a collection of of linked web pages. In other words to access a website you must type its domain name in your browser address bar, the browser will display the website's main web page usually formed with a bunch of clickable texts.
A storyboard is a sequence of drawings, often used with directions and dialogue. They represent the shots planned for a television production. A site map is a list of pages of a wed site accessible to users. It can be a document for a web design or a web page that lists the pages on a web site.
